Motorsports Development Group had excellent results this past weekend with drivers in both the GTS (Alec Udell #17 and Mitch Landry #97) and TCB (Nathan Stacy #14) classes at the World Challenge Honda Indy 200 race at Mid Ohio August 1st - 3rd, 2014.

Alec Udell drove his Mustang Boss 302S car to 2nd place on Saturday in the GTS class.

Mitch Landry, of Lake Charles, La., was the Sunoco Hard Charger with a gain of 14 positions from start to finish in the No. 97 VersaCrane/DeepSouth Ford Mustang Boss 302S. Landry finished 11th in GTS.

On Saturday 14 year old Nathan Stacy of Owasso, Okla. in the No. 14 MDG/Ford Racing Ford Fiesta gained nine spots from start to finish and was the race’s Sunoco Hard Charger.  Nathan Stacy commented “It was a ton of fun. Best race I’ve had all year. The most trading back and forth. It was so clean. Some bruising, but that’s TCB racing for you.” Nathan Stacy is now 2nd in the Pirelli World Challenge TCB Championship Points Standings with two races left in the series.

Pirelli World Challenge podium at Honda Indy TorontoPirelli World Challenge Round 10 GTS class podium at Honda Indy Toronto July 20th, 2014

Qualifying July 18th - After a slow start in the Practice 1 session with Alec Udell 8th fastest and Mitch Landry close behind him at 10th fastest we got up to pace in the Practice 2 session with Alec Udell in the 2nd fastest car in the GTS class. We didn't get the results we wanted in Qualifying, we know we are capable of doing better tomorrow on raceday.

Saturday Round 9 July 19th - 5th place finish for Alec Udell in Race 9 with Mitch Landry finishing right behind him in 6th place in the Pirelli World Challenge from Toronto!

Normally, a broken sensor during a race would greatly hinder a team and driver. Fortunately for driver Alec Udell, this happened on the warm up lap of the race and he was able to pit. The quick work of the crew had him back out, just after the start and was able to join the race at the back of the field. Almost immediately there was an incident in turn one, involving several cars that resulted in a full course yellow lasting 15 minutes.

On the the restart, Alec began to slowly work his way up through the pack, 14 cars in all, ending up in P5. He also managed to post the second fastest lap and will start in P2 Sunday morning at 9:15 am.

Sunday Round 10 July 20th - Winners Circle!  Alec Udell stepped up on the podium Sunday to accept his second place trophy after 45 minutes of racing he finished just 0.039 seconds behind Mark Willkins. "I had an excellent car, and have to thank Motorsports Development Group for preparing my MDG/ Watson Racing, Boss 302s Mustang. It allowed me to not only keep up, but aggressively threaten the pole sitter for the entire race with and average lap times faster then the leader." Team mate Mitch Landry also finished in the top 10 in 7th place.

Congrats to Mark and KIA on a well fought race!  Great racing with Mark Wilkins and Jack Roush Jr.
